RestShare connects restaurants, soup kitchens, and transportation. We created RestShare because we realized that a colossal amount of food was being thrown away every single day, and we wanted to stop this. We feel that our app RestShare will help millions of food-insecure people get a meal from their soup kitchen when they need it. When restaurants have leftover food, they usually just throw it away. In fact, US restaurants waste over 100 million pounds of food daily. With RestShare, that won’t happen! First, the restaurants will provide a list of extra food that’s available. Then, the soup kitchen can choose what food they want from the list, and it will be transported to them through volunteer drivers. To learn more, please have a look through our website.
